"This is the first crossover game between three companies"

[edit]

Not exactly true. Strictly speaking, for instance, Super Smash Bros Brawl had both Sonic and Snake, which means it's a crossover between Nintendo, Sega, and Konami. Cross Edge was a crossover between Namco, Capcom, Nippon Ichi (makers of Disgaea), and Gust Corporation (owned by Tecmo Koei). DreamMix TV World Fighters had characters from Konami, Hudson Soft, and Takara (toy company, owner of the Transformers brand, now Takara Tomy after merger). Cross Edge is the most important of these, since it's in Namco's X series, and thus it isn't even the first of these to be between more than two companies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aielyn (talkcontribs) 03:17, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New tables and citations

[edit]

I've redone the tables in the charatcer section. I believe the playable/assist distincion is the most important to people interested in the game, plus they each call for a different format. Eventually, we may need to add a third table for enemies based on the Assists table.

Also, I've removed the citations from most of the table entries, as they were cluttering up the table and tell us nothing other than "this character will be appearing in the game." If the source tells us nothing other than that, then the official site should be all the reference we need. (Of course, those characters that aren't on the official site yet will keep their third party sources for now.)

Resident Evil or Resident Evil: Revelations?

[edit]

As Niemti has pointed out, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine have been a part of the Resident Evil series ever since the first game. However, all official Japanese material lists their work of origin as バイオハザード リベレーションズ (Biohazard Revelations) instead of the series as a whole. Not sure why they're doing it this way; maybe it's because they're using designs from that specific game? I think it's to differentiate the current BSAA incarnation from the old STARS one. -Tigron (talk) 20:29, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On a related note, I'm not sure what to do about Sanger Zonvolt either. His work of origin is listed as スーパーロボット大戦OG, which could mean anything from the GBA original to the PS2 remake. I think his first appearance was in Super Robot Wars Alpha for the Dreamcast too, so there's another wrinkle in the issue.

In any case, until we can come to a conclusion on the matter, I vote we should say it like the official website says it.

I vote against Tigron's idea. We should put the facts. Nothing else. Jeandeve (talk) 03:49, 10 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

August 30 Update

[edit]

Okay, someone tried to break up the link (Resident Evil: Revelations) in an attempt to compromise on the issue. Not only was this an inelegant "solution," but those who want the "Revelations" gone will still want it gone regardless; it still doesn't solve the problem.

I'd be willing to let this slide as a one-off, but the recent unveiling of Selvaria Bles as an enemy unit means we'd have to do this again. Should we break up the Valkyria Chronicles III link into Valkyria Chronicles III? And what about Yuri, Estelle, and Flynn? They make appearances in other Tales games too. (Radiant Mythology, Twin Brave, etc.)

No, I still say that we should adhere to the official list of contributing works (as seen on the official site) to avoid confusion. They have their reasons for listing them as they have. I'd still like to clear up that ambiguity with Sanger, though.

September 29 Update

[edit]

Fine, you guys can have Revelatons out. Don't know why I'm writing this since you don't know how to use talk pages apparently.
